A short body scan

A short journey through the body that makes tension visible and so releasable. No goal but noticing.

Duration: 5 minutesWhen: midday break, evening, when restless

Here’s how

  1. Sit or lie down and close your eyes.
  2. Move your attention slowly from your feet up to your head.
  3. At each point just notice: tense or loose? Without having to change a thing.
  4. Where you find tension, breathe into it once, consciously.
  5. Finally, sense the whole body as one.

A calm self-help exercise, no substitute for therapy. Leave out whatever doesn’t feel good.
